Founded as a grassroots movement in 2017, We Are Moss Point was created to restore pride, celebrate people, preserve local history, encourage volunteerism, mentor youth, and inspire hope for future generations.

Our Story
Changing the story of a community.
We Are Moss Point began when founder Charlotte Brown grew tired of seeing her hometown defined only by negative headlines.
She knew another Moss Point: a community rich in history, culture, resilience, service, dedicated businesses, educators, churches, volunteers, and extraordinary residents.
Charlotte began intentionally sharing positive stories about the people making a difference. What started as one woman's effort to change the conversation grew into a community movement.

We Are Moss Point works with residents, municipalities, schools, churches, nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses, volunteers, mentors, sponsors, and community partners.
Rather than unnecessarily duplicating existing programs, WAMP works collaboratively to identify gaps, strengthen resources, and create opportunities that improve communities.

Our Signature Event
The Living Legends Ball
The Annual Living Legends Ball is one of We Are Moss Point's most recognized community celebrations.
The tradition originated with the late Patricia Green's vision to recognize deserving community members while they were still living and able to receive their flowers.
Under Charlotte Brown's leadership, the celebration became We Are Moss Point's signature event while continuing Patricia Green's original vision.
